Chilling Murder Trial Kicks Off in Bristol
A tense murder trial has started at Bristol Crown Court today involving 32-year-old Erdogan Erdogan. The Turkish national, who currently has no fixed address, is charged with killing his 27-year-old flatmate, Fatih Zengi, in a brutal attack last July.
Defendant Denies All Charges
On day one, Erdogan confirmed his identity through an interpreter. He vehemently denied the murder charge and the allegation of carrying a knife in public.
Fatal Attack in Swindon
The court heard how emergency services rushed to Manchester Road, Swindon, just after 5am on 2 July 2025. A cyclist alerted police to a seriously injured man. Despite frantic efforts by paramedics, Fatih Zengi was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two-Week Trial Underway
