Young Woman Dies After Head Injury in Battersea
A 23-year-old woman has tragically died after being found with a severe head injury on Silverthorne Road, Battersea, South West London early Thursday morning.
Emergency Rush to Silverthorne Road
Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene around 2.30am on August 1 after reports of an injured woman. She was rushed to a South London hospital but sadly later died.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “A woman found injured on Silverthorne Road has died. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene. Detectives are now working to establish the circumstances. Her next of kin have been informed.”
Community Reeling After Shocking Incident
Silverthorne Road has a grim history. In July 2019, interior design student Giovanna Cappiello, 29, was killed when a cement lorry driver failed to see her before turning left and running over her bicycle. The driver was convicted of causing death by careless driving.
Now, the community is once again in shock. Police are urging anyone with information or dash-cam footage related to the recent incident to come forward.
