Tragic Pedestrian Death on A21 in Flimwell

A 75-year-old local man has died after a serious collision at the junction of the A21 London Road and A268 Hawkhurst Road in Flimwell. The incident happened between 5.30pm and 5.50pm on Thursday, 16th November.

HGV Driver Detained Over Fatal Crash

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. His family have been informed of the tragic news.

A 57-year-old man from Rye, driving the lorry involved, has been detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Following the crash, police closed a section of road for forensic investigations. Officers are urgently looking for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage from the area around the time of the accident.
