Fatal Jaguar Crash Shuts Road for Hours Near Doncaster
Tragedy struck at 10am today (Thursday 4 November 2021) when a white Jaguar XF saloon, heading south towards Doncaster, collided with an orange DAF lorry travelling the opposite way.
The Jaguar driver, a man in his late 70s from Doncaster, died instantly at the scene. Authorities have informed his next of kin.
Lorry Crew Hurt in Horror Smash
The DAF driver, a man in his early 30s from Barnsley, suffered a serious leg injury. He was rushed by land ambulance to hospital for emergency treatment.
A passenger in the lorry, another Barnsley man in his late 20s, also sustained a neck injury and remains in hospital receiving care.
Major Crash Investigation Underway
The road remained closed until 7.25pm as emergency crews battled to make the scene safe. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue helped secure the vehicles and cleared debris, while Yorkshire Ambulance Service dispatched two air ambulances to treat the injured.
Highways officials set up diversions to keep other drivers clear of the danger zone.
Witnesses and Dash-Cam Owners Urged to Speak Out
The Major Collision Investigation Team is appealing for anyone who saw the vehicles before the crash to come forward. Dash-cam footage from motorists in the area could prove vital.
