Teen Dies in Brutal Machete Attack Near Dagenham Heath Tube

Police rushed to Dagenham Heath tube station at 11:47pm on Friday, 5 May after reports of two groups brawling with machetes. The horror scene ended with an 18-year-old man fatally stabbed.

Emergency Services Tried to Save Victim

Officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived to find the young man with stab wounds. Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene. A second man was also stabbed but is in a non-life-threatening condition.

The victim’s family have been informed. A post-mortem will be carried out in due course.

Murder Investigation Underway – Suspect in Custody

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command has launched a murder probe. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector James Shirley said: “My thoughts are with the young man’s family and friends. We are determined to bring the person or people responsible to justice.”

Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
