Four Stabbings Shake Walthamstow in Just Hours
Chaos hit Walthamstow on February 22 as four stabbing victims were found across the borough within hours. The violence unfolded between mid-afternoon and early evening, leaving police scrambling to contain the scenes.
First Victim Found in Car on Queensland Close
At 3.45pm, a man in his early 20s was discovered wounded inside a vehicle on Queensland Close. He was rushed to a North London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Three More Stabbing Victims Appear Within Hours
Less than three hours later, police were called to Brandon Road near Wood Street at 6pm. A man in his 30s was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital, his condition unknown. Around the corner on Stocksfield Road, two more males, both aged 18, were discovered injured.
Shockingly, the two 18-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the other victims.
Community on Edge as Police Launch Section 60
“Given the proximity of the various victims, the narrow window of time between incidents, and other recent violence, a Section 60 CJPOA was authorised from 6:30pm until 6:30am tomorrow covering Waltham Forest Borough,” said Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy in a Facebook post.
She urged locals to avoid “commentary and speculation” following the spate of serious violence and confirmed she has already spoken to police about the incidents.
Bystanders described the scenes as “chaotic,” with officers directing traffic and administering first aid near Wood Street. Police investigations remain ongoing as they appeal for witnesses.
