Teen Hospitalised After Knife, Machete, and Axe Attack in Pennyfields Park
A shocking daylight brawl erupted in Pennyfields Park, Poplar, on Wednesday evening, leaving a teenager injured in a terrifying attack involving knives, machetes, and an axe.
Violent Stabbing Sparks Swift Emergency Response
Emergency services raced to the scene at 5.46pm on 26 March after reports of a stabbing involving four men in Tower Hamlets. Witnesses described the violent encounter as “terrifying,” unfolding in broad daylight.
“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. The first paramedic arrived in under five minutes. We treated one patient and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority,” confirmed the London Ambulance Service.
Police Confirm Teen’s Injuries Not Life-Threatening
The Metropolitan Police responded quickly. Officers attended alongside LAS and found a boy suffering stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
“His injuries were later confirmed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing,” police said.
Investigation Underway, No Arrests Yet
Detectives from Tower Hamlets are urgently reviewing CCTV and chasing leads. No arrests have been made so far.
The brutal attack has stoked fresh fears over violent crime in the area. Social media users slammed Pennyfields Park as a “lawless” zone, echoing old claims labelling the borough a “no-go area”.
