Armed Robbery Shakes Winchester Jewellery Store
Police are hunting witnesses after a daring armed robbery at Justice jewellers on Parchment Street, Winchester, just after 9am today.
Masked Thieves Strike in Broad Daylight
Two men wearing motorcycle helmets stormed into the shop wielding an imitation firearm. A third suspect waited outside in a van. Armed officers from the Joint Operations Unit and dog units were rapidly dispatched to the scene.
Three Arrested, Jewellery Recovered
The trio—two 21-year-olds from Hertfordshire and a 28-year-old Londoner—were swiftly arrested on suspicion of armed robbery. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the brazen morning raid. Police have already recovered some stolen jewellery nearby and are examining the items.
Police Urge More Witnesses to Come Forward
“Despite speaking to many witnesses, we believe more people saw what happened,” said Detective Inspector Lee Macarthur. “We especially want to hear from two witnesses who saw the men fleeing into an alleyway. Their information could be crucial to our investigation.”
He added: “This took place in the busy town centre during a busy time of day, but specialist officers responded swiftly within minutes to handle the situation.”
