Horrific Late-Night Chemical Attack at Crawley Station

A man in his 30s was brutally assaulted by a gang at Crawley railway station just after 11.20pm on Saturday, March 7. Three attackers approached him, with one spraying a corrosive substance in his face before chasing him down. The victim fell and was repeatedly kicked as the thugs fled the scene.

Victim Suffers Life-Changing Injuries

Emergency services rushed the victim to hospital where he was treated for severe chemical burns. Though discharged, his injuries remain serious and potentially permanent. Tests confirmed the substance was highly corrosive.

Police Launch Manhunt After One Arrest

Detective Constable Billy Burstow said: “This shocking attack has caused real concern in the community. We have spoken to witnesses, reviewed CCTV, and carried out forensic work.”

He added: “We believe this was an isolated incident involving strangers and there’s no wider risk to the public.”

One suspect is in custody, but police are hunting two more men and have released their images. Anyone recognising these individuals is urged to contact British Transport Police immediately by texting 61016 with reference 851 of March 7 or calling 0800 40 50 40. Tips can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
