Three Arrested After Man Killed in Bromley Street Brawl
Detectives have launched a murder probe after a man died following a violent street fight in Bromley, London. Three men have been arrested in connection with the shocking incident.
10-Men Brawl Ends in Stabbing and Fatal Hit-and-Run
Police were called to Belmont Road, Chislehurst, at 8.25pm on Friday, 24 July, after reports of around 10 men fighting in the street.
Officers found two men, aged 30 and 26, suffering from stab wounds. Both were rushed to a south London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and remain in custody, arrested on suspicion of murder.
Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Van After Fight
At 8.54pm, minutes after the stabbing, officers attended a collision just yards away near Slades Drive. A 34-year-old man was hit by a blue van and died at the scene by 9.38pm. His next of kin has been informed. A post-mortem will take place, but formal ID is pending.
The van fled the scene and was found abandoned nearby. Police believe the stabbing and hit-and-run are linked, but inquiries are ongoing.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
“All three men sustained their injuries close to the Gordon Arms pub. I believe there are witnesses who haven’t come forward,” said Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard.
“We also want anyone who captured images or video on their phones to contact us. This could be crucial to our investigation.”
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday and remains in custody at a south London police station. A crime scene remains in place.
