Young Man Shot in Rotherham Street – Critical Condition
Police rushed to Winifred Street in Rotherham yesterday afternoon after reports of a shooting.
Victim Found with Gunshot Wounds
At 2:33pm on 18 March, officers discovered a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds to his back and leg. The injuries were consistent with firearm discharge.
Emergency Services Respond Swiftly
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Yorkshire Air Ambulance attended the scene. The victim was taken to hospital by land ambulance and remains in a critical condition.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Janine Broughton said: “We understand this incident will alarm local residents. We have increased police patrols while we carry out inquiries. Please speak to officers if you have concerns or any information — they’re here to help.”
