Teen Arrested After Man Stabbed to Death Outside Dorset Subway
Early Morning Horror on Old Christchurch Road
Dorset Police were called at 4:44am on Saturday, March 12, 2022, following reports a 21-year-old man was stabbed outside a Subway shop on Old Christchurch Road.
The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically died shortly after arriving. His family is now being supported by specially trained officers. HM Coroner has been informed.
16-Year-Old Boy Arrested Over Murder
Detective Inspector Simon Huxter from the Major Crime Investigation Team confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“The victim’s family have been kept updated with the progress of the investigation and our thoughts are very much with them and his friends at this tragic time,” DI Huxter said.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
A section of Old Christchurch Road and Horseshoe Common remains cordoned off while police continue examining the scene. CCTV enquiries are ongoing in the area.
DI Huxter urged anyone who saw the stabbing or has dashcam or home CCTV footage to come forward, no matter how small the detail.
“I understand this incident has had an impact on the community. Police presence will remain high in the coming days. Our local team is available for any concerns,” he added.
