Two Dead and Two Hurt After Shropshire Crash with Police CSI Vehicle

A grim morning on the A458 in Shropshire turned deadly when a crime scene investigation (CSI) vehicle collided with a Skoda Octavia. Two people are confirmed dead, and two others seriously injured.

Crash Details: Who Was Involved?

  • The smash happened around 10:15 am today.
  • The Skoda driver, a man in his 60s, and his female passenger in her 50s died at the scene some 45 minutes later.
  • A younger female passenger in her 20s suffered minor injuries.
  • The CSI vehicle driver, a police officer, was seriously hurt and rushed to a Birmingham hospital.

  • West Mercia Police confirmed the CSI vehicle was NOT responding to an emergency when the crash happened.
  • The incident is now being probed by the force’s Professional Standards Department and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
  • Chief Superintendent Gareth Morris sent condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured officer, urging privacy at this tough time.
