Four Men Nabbed in Major Terror Bust

Met Police’s Counter Terrorism Command swooped today, July 9, arresting four men in a high-stakes operation.

Raids Across East London and Leicestershire

The suspects, aged 17, 27, 31, and 32, were picked up at addresses in east London and Leicestershire. Three were arrested in east London — a 27-year-old alone, then a 31-year-old and 17-year-old together. The 32-year-old suspect was detained in Leicestershire.

Armed Officers and Police Dog Involved

The east London arrests were backed by armed officers. While no shots were fired, one man was bitten on the foot by a police dog during the arrest and has been hospitalised with non-serious injuries.

Leicestershire Police and East Midlands Counter Terrorism Policing helped with the Leicestershire arrest, which saw no armed officers on the scene.

Ongoing Searches and Investigation

The cops are currently searching all three properties and a fourth location in east London. All four men face suspicion of being involved in terrorism offences under the Terrorism Act 2000.

All remain in custody as inquiries continue.
