Tragic Scene: CPR Fails to Save Victim
Officers discovered the woman with severe injuries and immediately began CPR while paramedics were called. Sadly, despite desperate efforts, she was pronounced dead at approximately 4.30pm. A forensic post-mortem is set for today to nail down the exact cause of death.
Man Arrested, Family Supported
A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He is currently undergoing health assessments before police interview. The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and the children who were present during this distressing incident,” said Chief Inspector Dan Forster of Neighbourhood Policing. “The Major Crime Investigation Team is conducting a thorough investigation. This appears to be an isolated incident involving people known to each other.”
Crime Scene Cordoned Off, Police Boost Patrols
A police cordon remains in place at the property for at least a couple of days as forensic experts comb the scene. Local officers will increase patrols to reassure Kingswood residents.
The Professional Standards Department has been informed, and a referral will be made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to review the police response.
