Fatal Crash on A35 Near Bere Regis: Police Hunt Witnesses
A tragic smash on the A35 near Bere Regis has left one man dead and four seriously injured. The horror crash happened at 4.40pm on Saturday, July 14, 2018, just before the road switches from single to dual carriageway.
Three-Vehicle Collision Brings Chaos
The pile-up involved a white BMW, a white Land Rover Freelander, and a silver Mercedes. The Freelander’s driver, a 49-year-old man from Weymouth, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Four others were seriously hurt and rushed to hospital.
A35 Closed for Emergency Response
The crash forced authorities to shut both directions of the A35 between Bere Regis and Stinsford roundabout. Helicopter crews landed at the scene to assist with urgent care. The road reopened early the following morning.
Police Urge Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
“If you were driving on the A35 and saw the crash or dangerous driving beforehand, please come forward,” said Police Sergeant Fern Graham. “We’re especially keen on any dashcam footage that could help our investigation.”
