Teen Shot in Hackney Street Attack
A 17-year-old was shot in broad daylight on Marlborough Avenue, Hackney, late Wednesday night. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks but luckily survived the attack.
Masked Gunmen Open Fire on Group of Youths
The shooting happened around 11.15pm on 1 May. Police say the teen was with a group when two men wearing masks approached. One of the attackers pulled a handgun and fired, hitting the boy.
Emergency services rushed the injured teen to an east London hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he has now been discharged.
No Arrests Yet, Police Urge Public to Come Forward
Detectives from Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating but have made no arrests so far.
“These men are both dangerous and reckless,” said Detective Constable Martin Fortune.
“Their actions could have cost someone their life. They need to be caught and the firearm taken off the streets.”
