A heated scene unfolded at Asda on Strelley Road when a child accidentally bumped into a pushchair. The man pushing it lost his temper and verbally abused the youngster.

The child’s father confronted the angry man, sparking a fierce argument. Later, the child’s mother spotted the man outside the store and approached him.

Man lashes out with shocking behaviour

Temper flared again. The man spat in the mum’s face before picking up a glass bottle and hurling it against a wall.

Police appeal for public help

Officers were called, but the man had already fled. Sergeant Declan Bourne of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a very distressing incident and such vile behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities.”

Police want to speak to the man pictured in the incident and urge anyone who recognises him to call 101, quoting reference 22*4432.
