Armed Cops Nab Suspect in Wallasey Murder Probe

Armed police swarmed a residential block from both sides before hauling a suspect out in dramatic footage released by Merseyside Police. The chilling black and white video shows officers making the arrest linked to the Christmas Eve murder of Elle Edwards in Wallasey.

Merseyside Police tweeted the clip, saying: “Watch the moment we arrest a suspect as part of our ongoing investigation into the murder of Elle Edwards in Wallasey on Christmas Eve. Our efforts to remove criminals from our streets will never cease.”

Three Arrested in Connection With Tragic Killing

  • A 31-year-old man is currently being questioned over Ms Edwards’ death.
  • A 30-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
  • A 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry is held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

All three were arrested during clashes and investigations following the fatal shooting outside the Lighthouse Inn pub in Wallasey Village, Wirral, near midnight.

Police Hunt Murder Weapon as Investigation Intensifies

Despite having “some tremendous intelligence,” police are still desperately searching for the gun that killed 26-year-old Elle Edwards, who is believed not to have been the intended target of the shooting.

Forensic teams remain onsite, and a police cordon is still in place outside the pub days later.

Deputy Chief Constable Ian Critchley vowed:

“We will not rest until justice is served on Elle’s family. I’m still appealing for information from anyone who knows who pulled that trigger in this most appalling manner. We want to hear from anyone who knows where the weapon is or who has harboured information.”

Merseyside Police Plead for Public’s Help

Chief Constable Serena Kennedy promised a “relentless” pursuit of those responsible for the “callous and cold-blooded murder.” Police have urged anyone with dashcam, CCTV, or mobile footage linked to the incident to come forward immediately.

If you have any information, contact Merseyside Police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The hunt for justice continues.
