Urgent Search Underway for Missing 6-Year-Old Boy
A public briefing kicked off this morning to rally local volunteers in the desperate search for a missing 6-year-old boy. Flooded with support, authorities have thanked the community for their overwhelming offers of help.
Strict Safety Rules in Place
Emergency teams warn: Safety first, especially around water. Unless you attended the briefing at Sandwich fire station and know how to assist safely, stay clear of the area.
A one-mile exclusion zone is now set around the river near the scrapyard on Richborough Road. No boats, canoes, or engines allowed in this critical search zone. The goal? Keep the water calm for rescue teams to work effectively.
Where Help Is Needed Most
- Zone 1: From Castle Cottages heading upstream
- Zone 2: From Toll Bridge down towards the coast
If you’re helping, remember:
- Keep a safe distance from the water’s edge—do not enter the water
- Work in pairs, never alone
- Stay in touch and carry a mobile phone
- Report any search information to Kent Police on 101 or 999 in emergencies
Thanks for Your Support—Stay Safe!
The emergency services appreciate the community’s incredible effort. But they stress one thing above all: stay safe out there. The search continues, and your safety is key to helping find the little boy.
