Motorcyclist Critically Injured After Being Cut Up on Berwick Way
A man in his 50s is fighting for his life after a serious motorcycle crash on Berwick Way near the Medway Tunnel yesterday (Sunday 12th May 2024) at around 4:30 pm. Eyewitnesses say the rider was forced into the central reservation after a car cut him off suddenly.
Car Claimed to Have Cut Motorcyclist Off, Rider Loses Control
According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was riding calmly when a black BMW S1000 XR abruptly veered into his path. This caused the rider to lose control and crash violently into the central reservation, suffering severe injuries.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, treating the injured man before rushing him to King’s College Hospital in London. He remains in serious but stable condition.
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is probing the crash. A spokesman said:
“Dashcam footage and witnesses are sought by officers investigating a serious collision in Rochester.”
