CCTV Hunt Launched After Brutal Croydon Robbery
Detectives are on the lookout for two men linked to a vicious robbery in Croydon. They’ve released CCTV images of the suspects, urging the public to come forward.
Brutal Attack in South Norwood
On Tuesday, 15 September, around 8pm, a man was caught off guard while inside a shop on Portland Road, South Norwood. A stranger, someone the victim had never seen before, approached him.
The attacker soon got backup. Together, the two men launched a savage assault. The victim was head-butted, kneed in the head, and pummeled with punches—even after he was knocked unconscious on the floor.
Unconscious Victim Dragged Outside and Kicked
The attackers dragged the helpless man outside, where they continued to kick and stamp on his head. The brutal beating lasted about two minutes. During the chaos, the thugs stole the victim’s bag.
The victim is now recovering from a fractured eye socket. Police say he was lucky not to suffer even worse injuries.
Police Appeal for Information
Met’s South Area Command Unit is leading the investigation after extensive enquiries. Officers are keen to track down the suspects and bring them to justice.
PC Luke Dowling said: “This was a sustained, remorseless attack that must not go unpunished. The man is incredibly lucky he didn’t escape with more serious injuries. We are working hard to trace those responsible and hold them to account.”
If you recognise the men in the CCTV images or have any information, police urge you to get in touch immediately.
