Tragic Stabbing Near West Croydon Station Sparks Murder Probe

Police launched a murder investigation after a 14-year-old boy was found with fatal stab wounds near West Croydon Railway Station on the evening of Thursday, 18 November.

Fight Reported, But No Suspects at Scene

Officers rushed to London Road at 6.41pm following reports of a fight involving several people. However, upon arrival, no victims or suspects were found at the scene.

Teenager Dies After Self-Reporting With Stab Wounds

Shortly after 7pm, the wounded boy presented himself at a South London hospital. Despite efforts by doctors, he died shortly after arrival. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

The deceased was identified as Jermaine Cools, 14, a local youth. A post-mortem revealed he died from multiple stab wounds.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh said: “While our investigation is making progress, we urgently need witnesses to the fight near West Croydon station on Thursday evening to come forward.

“If you have dashcam footage or any information, it could be crucial. Jermaine’s family have been left devastated, and we need to find the person responsible.”

No arrests have been made so far. Enquiries are ongoing.
