Police swooped in Newport on Saturday afternoon, April 28th, detaining three men for Public Order offences. The crackdown came amid rising tensions and unruly behaviour in the town.

Officers also broke up a large gang of youths causing havoc in Church Litten Park. Witnesses report many were drunk, fuelling the rowdiness.
