Woman Struck by Audi Before Fatal Secondary Collision
A woman in her 40s was crossing Chester Road when a black Audi A8 heading into the city struck her. The impact hurled her into the path of a Mercedes driving the opposite way. Despite rushed emergency aid, the injuries proved fatal. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
Audi Driver Arrested After Fleeing Scene
The Audi initially fled but was found nearby. Police have arrested a 36-year-old man, suspecting him of causing death by careless driving. Investigations are ongoing.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is calling on anyone who saw the crash or has dash-cam footage to step up. Police Sergeant Julia Appleton stressed the need for vital information to piece together what happened.
