Double Fatal Crash on A4421 Rocks Newton Purcell

Tragedy struck on Saturday night as a horror crash on the A4421 near Newton Purcell claimed two lives. A black Vauxhall Insignia, heading towards Bicester at about 8.45pm, smashed head-on into a bus coming the other way.

Two Dead at the Scene

The driver of the Vauxhall, a 42-year-old man, and his front-seat passenger, a 34-year-old woman, were both killed instantly. The bus driver escaped with minor injuries.

Next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Police Launch Investigation and Seek Witnesses

PC Neil Bowker of Bicester Howes Lane police station said:

“This was a tragic incident where two people sadly died at the scene. We need anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.”

“If you were driving on the A4421 around the time of the crash, or have dashcam footage, please review it and contact us. Your information could be crucial.”

Road Re-Opened After Investigation

The road was closed for several hours while officers carried out inquiries but has since reopened.
