Tragedy struck on Monday night in Liverpool’s Dovecot neighbourhood when masked attacker opened fire inside a family home. Olivia Pratt-Korbel, just a young girl, was caught in the crossfire and killed. The gunman had chased a man into the house before opening fire.
Police Make Break in Hunt for Killer
Merseyside Police have been working round the clock investigating the shocking murder. Detectives have now received a crucial lead, sparking fresh hope for justice.
Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell told the BBC, “I’m delighted to hear that information is being shared. It was the plea issued yesterday; we know someone out there knows what happened and who is involved.”
Gunman Fired Indiscriminately – Family ‘Had No Link’ to Victims
- The gunman fired wildly, hitting Olivia in the chest as she stood behind her mother, Cheryl Korbel.
- Mrs Korbel was also hit in the wrist and is currently hospitalised.
- The man being chased was shot too and remains in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
- Neither victim is thought to be connected to the attackers.
Police Hunt Continues
Officers are combing through CCTV footage and carrying out house-to-house inquiries across the area. The man pursued into the house has not yet been interviewed or arrested. The investigation is very much ongoing.
