Two More Arrests as Hampshire Car Meet Chaos Continues
Police have arrested two more men over dangerous driving at a massive car meet that tore through Hampshire last weekend. The 24-year-old from Portsmouth and 32-year-old from Caerphilly were taken into custody following multiple reports of reckless motoring during the event.
Cars Seized, Five Arrests Made
The crackdown has led to six cars being seized so far, including a black BMW M140i and BMW 320d, joined earlier in the week by a BMW M3, Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Golf, and BMW M2. Authorities have now arrested five people linked to the gatherings.
Wild Ride From Winchester to Southsea Ends in Police Clampdown
The car meet kicked off at Winchester Park and Ride on Saturday, September 21, before roaring through southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton, Eastleigh, Chandler’s Ford, and Fareham, finally ending at Southsea seafront after midnight. Throughout the drive, police received numerous reports of dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour.
“Our officers will do all in our power to identify, locate, and arrest people we believe to be involved in dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour at these gatherings,” said Inspector Andy Tester.
Inspector Tester warned that anti-social drivers put local road users at risk and disrupt communities. “This behaviour will not be tolerated,” he added. The police urge anyone with information or footage to come forward to aid ongoing investigations.
Police Take a Zero-Tolerance Approach
“If you don’t want us taking your vehicle and arresting you, then don’t behave recklessly and endanger the lives of others,” Inspector Tester said. Authorities vow to use all their powers to clamp down on dangerous driving and protect public safety.
