Knife Attack in Gillingham Park Sparks Police Hunt
Man Slashed in Broad Daylight
Police are on the lookout for witnesses after a chilling knife attack in Gillingham Park. On 19 July 2020, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, a man in his 30s was strolling through the park near Brasenose Road and Oxford Road when two men on an off-road bike nearly collided with him.
Without warning, one of the riders jumped off and slashed the victim’s face and arm with a knife before hopping back onto the bike and fleeing. The injured man called for help and was rushed to a local hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
Police Description of Suspects
- Attacker: Around 6ft tall, slim build, mousey blonde short hair. Wearing a khaki tracksuit with a dark stripe across chest and legs, black trainers, and carrying a black bag.
- Driver: About 5ft 8in, medium build, brown hair. Clad in a black hooded jacket and grey jogging bottoms.
Both suspects are described as white men in their 30s. The off-road bike is green, black, and white.
