Woman Assaulted with Unknown Substance in South Croydon
A 25-year-old woman was attacked with an unidentified substance on South End, South Croydon, last Thursday evening, sparking a police probe.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Police, London Fire Brigade, and London Ambulance Service were called at 8:55pm on 1 August after reports of the assault. Officers arrived quickly to find the victim had been approached by a male suspect who threw a strange substance at her.
The woman was rushed to a south London hospital. Fortunately, medics confirmed her injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-changing. Police have clarified the substance is not acid, but its exact nature remains unknown.
No Arrests Yet as Police Hunt Suspect
So far, no arrests have been made. The investigation remains open as officers seek witnesses and footage to help identify the attacker. The police spokesperson urged the public:
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage to contact us. Your information could be crucial in helping us identify and apprehend the suspect.”
