Emergency crews were called at around 4:15 PM following what police described as a “serious collision” on the coastbound side. The smash involved a lorry and a van, with reports confirming one vehicle caught fire during the crash.

- Exit A2 at Marling Cross.
- Head onto coastbound Heaver Court Road via the roundabout at the top of the slip road.
- Proceed along Valley Drive, then onto B261 Old Road East.
- Continue towards The Lion roundabout and join A226 eastbound towards Rochester.
- Follow signs to the A289 junction to rejoin the main route.
