Chaos on the A31 in Dorset after serious multi-vehicle crash
The A31 near Bere Regis is shut both ways after a nasty crash late last night. The closure stretches between the A35 and A350 junctions following a serious collision just after 11pm at Stag Gate.
Major crash blocks key Dorset route
The road remains closed from the Roundhouse roundabout to Bere Regis roundabout. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene with crews from Poole and Bere Regis. Three vehicles were involved in the smash.
Four injured, emergency services scramble
Four people were hurt – two females, one male, and a child. Emergency responders included ambulance teams, an air ambulance crew, plus an off-duty firefighter and doctor who helped at the scene. Three adult casualties were taken to hospital. All vehicles have been secured safely.
Traffic chaos: Diversions in place
- Eastbound travellers: Divert from Bere Regis via the A35 to Poole, then head north on the A350 at Upton to rejoin the A31 near Sturminster Marshall.
- Westbound drivers: Follow the reverse diversion.
