Huge blaze rips through Maida Vale school

Massive Fire Erupts at Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School

A major fire has broken out at Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School on Kennet Road, Maida Vale, sparking a huge emergency response in West London. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) raced to the scene just after 1pm, deploying eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters to tackle the inferno.

Firefighters Battle Blaze from Above

The fire has engulfed part of the school’s roof. Fire crews are using two 32-metre turntable ladders as water towers to douse the flames from above. Station Commander Hardeep Dale confirmed the school was safely evacuated before the fire crews arrived. “We are working closely with partner agencies to support everyone affected,” he said.

Emergency Services Swarm Scene Amid Traffic Chaos

Alongside firefighters, police and paramedics are on site helping with evacuation and managing the scene. One woman is being treated for injuries at the scene. Road closures around Kennet Road are causing severe traffic disruption. Authorities have urged the public to steer clear of the area to allow emergency teams to work effectively.

School Caters to Vulnerable Pupils

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School specialises in education for children and young people aged 4 to 19 with severe learning difficulties, making the incident especially concerning for the community.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the fire remains unknown. The London Fire Brigade is investigating and will issue updates as more details emerge. Residents are advised to follow official LFB channels and local news for real-time updates.
