Red Funnel to Fix Ferry Frustration After Months of Delays

Red Funnel has finally announced a fix for the linkspan at their Southampton terminal, the culprit behind months of delays and passenger fury. Repairs are set to kick off this weekend, weather permitting.

Linkspan Damage Sparks Chaos

The specially ordered parts needed to repair the damaged linkspan have taken ages to arrive. For nearly a year, ferry staff have been forced to load the upper and main decks separately, slowing down the busy East Cowes to link="linked">Southampton vehicle service and leaving travellers stuck in frustrating queues.

Red Funnel Apologises, Promises Faster Service

In a statement, Red Funnel admitted the wait had been exasperating for everyone. “We know how frustrated you’ve been with the delays, and we’ve been just as irritated,” they said. “We’ve done everything possible to speed things up, and we’re pleased to say the day has finally come.”

The company also thanked passengers for their patience. “A massive thank you to all our passengers for bearing with us as we do our best to operate quickly and safely under these restrictions,” they added.
