Cheryl Fergison, famed for her role on EastEnders, has opened up about a nightmarish 24-hour spell in Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s Accident & Emergency department. The 58-year-old took to Instagram to share the harrowing experience, describing the pain as “complete agony.”
“Hi everyone, I’ve just spent the last 24 hours in A&E at Blackpool Victoria Hospital,” Cheryl said in a heartfelt video. “I’ve seen things in the last 24 hours I can’t unsee. I’ve been made a million times better by the angels that are all of the NHS staff which I wanna thank, like, big time.”

The actress didn’t hold back on the struggles faced by NHS workers. “When people say they don’t get paid enough – they really don’t get paid enough,” she said bluntly. “We’ve got a broken system. It’s gone to pot. It’s shot.”
Despite her criticism, Cheryl paid tribute to the NHS team’s tireless dedication. “But it’s still amazing and we still have it – just, by a thread,” she added. “I wanna firstly say a huge thank you.”
