Bury Schools Stay Open for Key Workers and Vulnerable Kids

All Schools to Reopen for Priority Pupils

Education chiefs in Bury have been working flat out to keep schools open for children in need and those with parents in key jobs. From Monday, every school will welcome these pupils back. The fate of the two currently closed schools, Radcliffe Hall Primary and St Luke’s Primary, will be decided by then.

Who Counts as a Key Worker?

The Government will soon clarify which workers qualify as key, including NHS staff and emergency services. Once confirmed, Bury Council will issue guidance to help key workers arrange school places for their kids.

Council Thanks Schools for Staying Safe

“We have been in constant contact with all our schools over the past few days, and thank them for following the Government’s advice on staying open for so long,” said a council spokesperson.

Final Plans in Place for Pupils of Closed Schools

The council is also finalising arrangements to help children from the two closed schools attend another local school if needed, ensuring no child is left behind during these tricky times.
