Huge Blaze Engulfs Richmond Spa and Hotel Annex
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters raced to tackle a massive blaze at a spa building next to a hotel in Richmond Hill. The entire roof of the spa was up in flames.
Hotel Also Hit by Flames
Part of the hotel’s third floor, sharing a wall with the spa, also caught fire. Station Manager Mike Cotton, on duty at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked hard in very challenging conditions to bring the fire under control. We expect to be here all day today (May 1) to douse the remaining hotspots.”
Local Chaos and Safety Warnings
The fire erupted in an annexe building, sending thick smoke billowing across the area. Road closures remain in place, with officials urging drivers to avoid the area and check travel routes before heading out. Fortunately, there are no reports of injuries.
