Flights Grounded at London Luton Airport After Massive Car Park Blaze

All Flights Suspended Until Midday

London Luton Airport has halted all flights until at least midday following a huge vehicle fire that erupted in Terminal Car Park 2 overnight. The airport warned passengers early this morning: “Emergency services continue to respond to a significant fire in Terminal Car Park 2, which has resulted in partial structural collapse. Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport at this time, as access remains severely restricted.”

Flames and Thick Smoke Engulf Car Park

The dramatic blaze broke out on the top floor of the multi-storey car park, sending towering flames and billows of smoke into the sky. Shocking footage circulating online shows intense flames tearing through the structure. The fire has devastated roughly 80% of the third floor, forcing emergency crews into a massive battle against the inferno.

Emergency Services Race to the Scene

The Bedfordshire Fire Service responded quickly, deploying 10 fire engines after receiving the emergency call at 20:47 BST. The East of England Ambulance Service was also on site, but thankfully no injuries have been reported so far. Firefighters are working hard to contain the blaze and assess the damage caused by the partial collapse.

Travel plans remain disrupted, with the airport urging all passengers to stay away until further notice.
