Fire crews from Swanage and Wareham are tackling a fast-moving fire on Studland Heath. More firefighters are rushing to the scene as the blaze spreads.

Massive Response from Dorset Fire Teams

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.26pm from a member of the public reporting heavy smoke over Studland Heath.

Crews from Swanage, Westbourne, Poole, Christchurch, Hamworthy, and Wimborne are all in action. They brought Land Rover pumps from multiple locations, plus a Unimog from Wareham and a water carrier from Poole.

600 Square Metres of Heathland Ablaze

Firefighters are battling flames across around 600 square metres of heathland. Their main focus is building a fire break to shield nearby homes from the growing inferno.
