Chaos erupted at the Holiday Inn on Clayton Road, Staffordshire, after staff discovered a suspicious device. Police immediately sealed off the hotel and evacuated all residents.

The hotel near the M6 motorway has been housing families forced to escape the Taliban’s rule. Paying guests have been barred for some time as it serves as temporary refuge.
Large Police Cordon and Road Closures in Force
A police spokesman confirmed: “Police are currently in attendance, following the discovery of a potentially suspicious device. As a standard safety precaution, a 100m cordon is in place and nearby buildings have been evacuated. Road closures are in place while an assessment is undertaken.”
The area remains locked down as bomb disposal units work to assess the threat. Residents and passersby have been moved away from the scene for safety.
