Joan Collins Films Star-Studded Drama at Portsmouth’s Queen Hotel
Hollywood legend Joan Collins hit Portsmouth today, turning heads while filming her new movie at the iconic Queen Hotel. Alongside fellow star Pauline Collins of Shirley Valentine fame, the pair brought glamour to Southsea with their latest project, The Time of Their Lives.
Glitz and Glamour at Queen Hotel Ballroom
The two screen icons spent most of the day shooting inside the Queen Hotel’s elegant ballroom, which was closed off to guests. The film is a modern twist on Thelma & Louise, following two women forging an enduring friendship through a thrilling road trip.
Seafront Stunt Shocks Locals
Filming then moved outside to the bustling Southsea seafront where a stunt double for Pauline Collins was spotted jumping into the chilly sea to rescue a child. The daring scene added a splash of excitement to the shoot.
Royal Marine Barracks and More
Further scenes were captured at the historic Royal Marine Barracks. The movie is directed by TV heavyweight Roger Goldby, known for hits like Call the Midwife, Waterloo Road, and The Durrells.
“It’s lovely being in Portsmouth. It’s just a shame about the wretched weather,” Joan Collins told UK News in Pictures.
