Serious Pedestrian Crash Closes Redlands Lane in Havant
Havant’s Roads Policing Unit slammed a road closure on Redlands Lane tonight after a major collision. Emergency crews swarmed the scene just after 5pm on Sunday following multiple distress calls.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Specialist collision investigators were called in as it emerged a pedestrian was struck by a car near the parade of shops. Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance rushed to the scene.
Serious Injuries Reported
Sources say the pedestrian’s injuries could be life-changing. The exact condition remains unclear as emergency teams work to secure the area.
Road Closure and Community Reaction
The road is shut from Wallisdean Avenue to Avenue Road junctions and is expected to remain closed for some time. Police are urging drivers to avoid the area completely.
“Prayers are with all those involved with this serious incident by our church,” said the local minister at St Johns Church, located close to the crash site.
