Human Remains in South Gloucestershire Confirmed as Missing Man
Human remains found in a field at Emersons Green, South Gloucestershire, earlier this month have been identified as 63-year-old David Wilson from Downend. David was reported missing in late September after disappearing in May 2024.
Months Without a Trace
Despite two public appeals, no confirmed sightings of David were made in the months following his disappearance. His remains were discovered on Tuesday, November 5. Forensic tests have now confirmed his identity.
Police Appeal for Information
“David’s next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time,” said a police spokesperson. “While we have found no evidence of suspicious circumstances, the death remains unexplained as a forensic post-mortem examination was inconclusive.”
Officers are urging anyone who saw David between May and November, or who has any information that could help the investigation, to come forward.
