The Kent, Sussex and Surrey air ambulance touched down on a busy highway to treat injured victims after a vehicle flipped and slammed into the back of a heavy goods lorry. Firefighters are desperately working to cut away the car’s roof and free those trapped inside.

Huge queues have built up as the highway remains closed. Authorities are conducting a full investigation and clearing the wreckage. Drivers stuck in the jam are slowly being let through as the scene is cleared.
