Two men and a teenager have been banned from driving following police investigations into reckless car cruising in Shropshire. West Mercia Police discovered videos in March showing dangerous driving stunts in Telford, Shrewsbury, and near Minsterley, prompting charges for the three drivers.

Reckless Stunts Caught

One clip showed Benjamin Fisher, 22, performing doughnuts in Halesfield, Telford. Another filmed Luke Mills, 19, doing the same in a Tesco car park in Shrewsbury. A third video captured 25-year-old Oskars Gleizups near Minsterley, who was seen executing dangerous manoeuvres before speeding off.

Telford Court

Following an extensive inquiry involving roads policing officers and safer neighbourhood teams, all three were identified, issued Notices of Intended Prosecution, and charged with dangerous driving offences.

Court Sentencing

Each appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court where they pleaded guilty. All three received 12-month driving bans, a 4-month curfew from 7pm to 5am, and were ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.

Police Warn Public

Sergeant Matt Corfield of the Telford Safer Neighbourhood Team stated: “These court results send a very clear message that dangerous driving and car cruising activity will not be tolerated in Telford or anywhere across Shropshire.” He added the reckless behaviour was illegal and put the public at risk, with the punishments reflecting the severity of their actions.

Ongoing Safety Campaign

Part of Operation Chicane, this ongoing campaign targets antisocial and dangerous driving. Sergeant Corfield confirmed police will continue to identify offenders and urged the community to provide information to help disrupt such activities across the region.
