Woman Stabbed in Portsmouth Man arrested for Attempted Murder
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a violent stabbing in North End this afternoon. A 35-year-old woman was stabbed in the back, with a black kitchen knife, at the top of her spine, outside Barclays Bank in North End just before 3pm. The Area remains corned off with Blue Police tape. The knife, which witnesses described as being a large kitchen knife with a black handle, was still lodged just below her neck when paramedics arrived on scene. Police have now confirmed that a 41-year-old male, who is thought to have been known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in nearby Kingston Crescent after attempting to flee the scene. Anyone who saw the incident, a male in an agitated state in the area or fleeing the scene, or with any other information is urged to call Police on 101.
