Passengers Moved to Safety Amid Quick Response

Passengers were swiftly moved to the top deck for safety, with many praising the ferry staff for their calm and efficient handling of the incident. The fire started in the bin room on the main car deck but was quickly spotted and tackled.

Ferry Docks Safely; All Passengers Disembark

The ferry continued to Fishbourne, where it docked safely. All passengers have now disembarked without injury. A Wightlink spokesperson confirmed the fire was fully extinguished and described the blaze as “small.”

Interestingly, the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said they were not informed or called to the scene.
