Itchen bridge has been closed this morning after a person has been seen threatening to jump off the bridge. Police have sealed off the bridge in both directions after they were called to reports of a person threatened to leap from the structure this morning.
The woman can be seen over the para pit has been described by Police as high risk. A number of officers are talking to the woman.
The bridge was closed at just before 2:00am.Two lifeboat and a coastguard rescue team from Hillhead have also been called to the scene. An ambulance can also be seen park in the middle of the bridge.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are dealing with an incident on the Itchen Bridge we have sent a number of specialist officers to the scene." Just after 3:20am this morning emergency services successfully talked the woman down to safety and is now being treated by South Central Ambulance Service.
