Road Closures Hit Wickham Ahead of Big Horse Fair
Police are shutting roads in Wickham for the much-anticipated Horse Fair this Saturday. The Square will be off-limits to traffic from 4.30am straight through to 8pm as the fair takes over.
Major Roads Blocked for Fair
The A334 will be closed between the Blind Lane traffic lights and the A32 roundabout junction. Meanwhile, the nearside lane of the A32 southbound at Hoads Hill—from the A334 junction to the top of the hill—will be reserved for parking.
Parking Rules and Warnings
Any vehicles parked outside authorised spots risk being towed. Drivers not attending the fair are strongly urged to allow extra travel time to avoid delays.
Official Warning from Chief Inspector
“If you are planning to attend the fair, please familiarise yourself with the road closures and parking rules,” said Chief Inspector Alison Heydari. “These measures are in place to minimise disruption for locals and motorists. Plan your journey accordingly.”
