Tragic death of Abbas Ali shocks community
Abbas Ali, 65, died early Saturday morning after suffering a serious head injury. Paramedics rushed him to Queen Alexandra Hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Three men arrested and bailed
Police arrested three men on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. All three have since been bailed as inquiries continue.
Gandhi Restaurant sealed off for investigation
Authorities closed the Gandhi Restaurant on Hollow Road while forensic teams combed the premises for evidence. Scenes of Crime officers focused especially on a side alley inside the restaurant.
Staff paid tribute, saying, “We have not only lost a colleague, but a very good friend.”
